REMINDER/RONA Annual Meeting of Shareholders on May 9, 2012

BOUCHERVILLE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - May 7, 2012) - RONA inc. (TSX:RON)(TSX:RON.PR.A), Canada's largest distributor and retailer of hardware, home renovation and gardening products is inviting representatives from the media and the financial community to its annual meeting of shareholders next Wednesday, May 9 at 11 a.m. at the Corporation's Boucherville head office. Jean Gaulin, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Robert Dutton, President and CEO, and Dominique Boies, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will discuss highlights of the Corporation's activities in 2011 and the outlook for the future.

Television cameras and photographs will be permitted for five minutes before and after the meeting. Cameramen and photographers will have to leave the moment the meeting begins. Robert Dutton will be available to answer questions from media representatives after the meeting.

The annual meeting of shareholders will also be broadcast online (audio only) at http://webcasts.pqm.net/client/rona/event/415/en/ It will not be possible to ask questions. Audio replay of the annual meeting will be available in the afternoon of May 10.
