Lightower Fiber Networks, the premier metro fiber and bandwidth provider in the Northeast, announced that Chris Williams, Director of Complex Solutions for Lightower, will moderate a panel titled "Building a Wired Economy: Demand in Massachusetts" on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, from 7:15 - 8:00 p.m. The panel is part of a larger program called the Massachusetts Broadband Summit, taking place at the MIT Stata Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The Massachusetts Broadband Summit is organized by TechNet and the Massachusetts Broadband Institute to bring light to the topic of the wired economy in the Commonwealth. The evening's agenda is focused on how Massachusetts is working with public and private partnerships to drive a national leadership position in broadband adoption. Discussion will also focus on how new, advanced technologies and essential infrastructure development will help drive the modern economy.
"Both the National and Massachusetts economies thrive on industries that require access to advanced communications networks," commented Rob Shanahan, CEO of Lightower. "Every day, we see the impact that access to advanced networking solutions can have on a business, as was envisioned by Governor Duval Patrick through the Massachusetts Broadband Institute. Lightower works with businesses to implement the infrastructure that will drive new business and provide efficiencies in industries such as financial services, health care, education, technology, government, and media, to name just a few."
Earlier in 2012, the Massachusetts Broadband Institute (MBI) selected Lightower to provide a diverse network solution as part of its initiative for MassBroadband123. Lightower was also recently awarded a position on the Massachusetts ITT46 Network Services contract. Lightower is now an authorized vendor to government agencies and offices in Massachusetts for Ethernet, SONET, Internet, Colocation and Dark Fiber services.
