The Story:
On April 26, 2012, after getting word that the summer months were going to be the driest "food collection" season ever for the S.F.V.R.M., Greg Martayan, a resident and leader within the city of Los Angeles, refused to accept the reality that some of those in need would be turned away from a hot meal. Acting quickly, Martayan put together a coalition of Schools, Community Organizations and Religious Institutions to raise enough canned food to make a difference. Martayan's long-time friend World-Renowned Chef Kimmy Tang accepted his invitation and call to action, putting her support and efforts behind his "Helping Feed Los Angeles" movement.
"Please help us in providing a hot meal for those in need. The following items are of the utmost importance to the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission. Thank you." - Greg Martayan
Canned Foods: green beans, corn, mixed vegetables, black beans, pinto beans, cream soups, refried beans, canned chili and beans, canned fruit, canned chicken and/or beef
(Food Must Not be past the suggested expiration date)
