Average Ticket Prices Rebound According to Data From TicketNetwork(R) Exchange
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT--(Marketwire - April 26, 2012) - TicketNetwork®, the leading online ticket exchange for events and an innovative technology solutions provider for both ticket buyers and sellers, today announced that average prices for NBA and NHL Stanley Cup playoff tickets sold on its online ticket exchange have risen compared to 2011.
While fans are paying more to catch both leagues' playoffs this season, NBA ticket prices have seen the most significant increase. So far in 2012, consumers have paid an average $182 per ticket for the NBA playoffs, compared to an average $129 per ticket during the same period last year. Meanwhile, 2012 NHL playoff games have sold on the Exchange for an average $122 per ticket, compared to $117 per ticket in 2011.
"It is clear that demand for tickets purchased on the secondary market has increased for these two professional leagues over the course of just one year," said Doug Kruse, co-CEO, TicketNetwork. "This statistical data suggests that NBA and NHL fans alike are digging deeper in 2012 to see the best teams in the league compete on the hardwood and ice."
