Sales of I.M. Healthy SoyNut Butter During Food Allergy Awareness Week to Benefit Allergy Research
CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - May 1, 2012) - The SoyNut Butter Company, a manufacturer of peanut and tree nut-free food products, has announced a newfound alliance with Food Allergy Initiative (FAI), the world's largest private source of funding for food allergy research. The campaign will utilize social media, as well as traditional and non-traditional marketing platforms, to generate awareness of The SoyNut Butter Company's I.M. Healthy SoyNut brand, FAI and the organization's research and education initiatives.
During Food Allergy Awareness Week, May 13 - 19, The SoyNut Butter Company will donate to FAI a portion of sales of I.M. Healthy SoyNut Butter and I.M. Healthy SoyNut Chocolate Spread. I.M. Healthy SoyNut Butter, available in four varieties, is a leading peanut butter substitute and is available in supermarket chains throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as in specialty natural nutrition and health food stores.
"As a company that provides a solution for children and adults with peanut and tree nut allergies, we're pleased to support FAI and its mission to find a cure for food allergies, and to support advocacy, community education, and public awareness efforts that raise the visibility of food allergies," said Stephen Grubb, president of The SoyNut Butter Company.
According to Grubb, The SoyNut Butter Company will integrate FAI messaging in the displays the company utilizes at consumer and industry trade shows. "We come into contact with thousands of consumers on a weekly basis searching for a substitute to peanut butter and gluten free options," added Grubb. "Having FAI materials available at our booth is an ideal way to introduce FAI and its initiatives to individuals coping with food allergies."
"Food allergy is a large and growing public health problem, affecting up to 15 million Americans. That includes an astonishing 5.9 million children --two in every classroom," said Mary Jane Marchisotto, executive director, FAI. "Nearly 40 percent of those children have already had a severe or life-threatening reaction. FAI is deeply grateful to The SoyNut Butter Company for its generous support of our efforts to educate the public and to develop new therapies, and ultimately find a cure, for this potentially fatal disease."
