Outdoor Film Series Will Continue to Draw Film Lovers to Penn's Landing
PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - May 1, 2012) - Picture it! The RiverStage at Penn's Landing is transformed into an outdoor theater for another season of Screenings Under the Stars. Every Thursday night in July and August, a different popular film will be featured on a big screen on the new RiverStage at Penn's Landing, located on Columbus Boulevard at Chestnut Street. The screenings, sponsored by media partners NBC 10 and B101.1 FM, will begin at dusk or approximately 8:30 p.m. in July and 8:00 p.m. in August. Screenings Under the Stars is affordable family entertainment and/or a great date night for couples at the right price: FREE! Seeing a spectacular film on the waterfront under the stars is the perfect family outing or truly unique and memorable summer date. Couples will be reminded of the old fashioned romance created by drive in movies. Visitors can begin or end their evening on South Street or in Old City, just a short walk from Penn's Landing.
Radio station B101 will host the screenings with coordinating themed games and prizes. WBEB 101.1 FM (B 101) is an adult contemporary station broadcasting in the Philadelphia market. Founded in 1963, B101 is credited with many industry firsts and has enjoyed consistent Top 10 ratings for decades. The station is owned and operated by Jerry Lee. It remains the only independently owned music station in a major US Market.
NBC 10 also partnered again this season to present this free series. NBC 10, one of 10 Owned NBC Universal television stations, is located in Bala Cynwyd, Pa., a suburb of Philadelphia. Millions of viewers throughout Greater Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley, South Jersey and Delaware tune into NBC 10 everyday for the most up-to-date news, weather, sports, consumer, health and traffic reports.
Viewers also tune in daily to watch "The 10! Show," an upbeat, half-hour lifestyle and entertainment show featuring local, national and internationally known celebrities. The program airs live Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m.

The 2012 Summer Program of Free Events at Penn's Landing is funded and produced by the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC).
