DETROIT, MI--(Marketwire - July 10, 2012) - ChannelNet today announced that on June 5, 2012 the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued US Patent No. 8,195,531 to ChannelNet for its SiteBuilder™ e-commerce site creation and customization software system. Websites built with ChannelNet's SiteBuilder software system allow a corporation's customers to research their product and service options online and complete their purchase, either online, in-store or through a call center. This is the second patent granted to ChannelNet for its SiteBuilder software system. ChannelNet's SiteBuilder software system, first released in September of 1999, received its first patent, US Patent No. 7,778,889, on August 17, 2010.
ChannelNet's SiteBuilder is a unique combination of technologies shaped by ChannelNet's cross-industry experience in creating web-based systems for diverse corporate clients. SiteBuilder includes a variety of sales and marketing modules that corporate clients use to represent their desired business processes. Behind the scenes, a highly-scalable layered architecture combines with pre-built business modules to give companies a powerful sales and marketing system that streamlines the interaction between brands, sales channels and customers. Key protected features include template-based customization, a modular design approach, and loyalty management using proprietary personalization technology.
The business modules provide highly customizable templates and themes that create both the desired front-end, "look and feel" of the website, and seamless integration with the desired functionality and data. Selectable rules within the SiteBuilder system allow the website to address the unique needs of each corporate client's customers through personalization.
"Given ChannelNet's 27 year history in cross channel sales and marketing, we know from experience the importance of providing companies with practical and cost-effective solutions for connecting online users with offline sales channels," stated Paula Tompkins, ChannelNet CEO and Founder. "We continue to evolve SiteBuilder to meet our clients' needs for delivering the right content, in the right format, to the right person, at the right time -- to sell more products and services and to retain customers."
After a website goes live, the SiteBuilder software provides administrative tools which allow corporate business clients to manage their own websites, and to display, localize and update specific content. SiteBuilder integrates easily with legacy and third party systems.
