Quorum Announces Appointment of Bill Ray and 
Membership in STAR (Standards for Technology in 
Automotive Retail)

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 20, 2005) - Quorum Information 
Technologies Inc. (TSX VENTURE:QIS) (Quorum) announced today the 
appointment of Bill Ray as Manager, OEM Business Development. Mr. Ray 
will be responsible for facilitating integration of Quorum's proprietary 
automotive dealership management (DMS) software, XSELLERATOR(TM), to all 
North American automotive manufacturer systems. Mr. Ray has recently 
arranged for Quorum to become the 48th member of STAR, the IT standards 
body for the North American retail automotive industry. XSELLERATOR is a 
completely integrated, Windows-based DMS that automates and streamlines 
dealerships' Sales, Service, Parts, Accounting and CRM processes.

STAR, a non-profit entity, is leading an auto industry-wide initiative 
to implement voluntary IT standards supporting the business information 
needs and Internet links that automotive dealers, manufacturers, and 
retail system providers need to communicate with each other. The STAR 
standard makes it easier for Quorum to move the Company's existing 
manufacturer integration points with General Motors (GM) across to other 
manufacturers, which means a faster roll-out of XSELLERATOR in the North 
American market. Once integrated to a manufacturer's (OEM) systems, 
XSELLERATOR can then be sold to that OEM's dealerships. This is 
significant in that there are over 25,000 automotive dealerships in the 
market.

Mr. Ray is very familiar with STAR, most recently through his 
involvement on project management at DaimlerChrysler, Ford, GM and VW 
converting their dealership Integration applications to STAR Standard 
XML BODS. Mr. Ray has had an impressive career; planning new Service 
Diagnostic Systems in the IBM Boca Raton Lab., training IBM Sales and 
Support staff on the Auto Retail Industry, Industry consulting at the 
manufacturer (OEM) and dealership level, Project Manager on OEM Proof of 
Concept development and as a Consultant to GM Canada on Dealer Systems 
Providers Certification and Dealer Systems Integration.
