"We are thrilled to be back for a seventh year in the Bay Area," said Maker-in-Chief, Sherry Huss, of O'Reilly Media's MAKE division. "We have hundreds of new makers at the festival who, along with returning makers, have so many fun and exciting projects to share with attendees. We're expecting over 100,000 people this year, and they're in for an amazing weekend." Along with rockets, robots, science and technology, the Homegrown Village and Maker Square at Maker Faire has an entire area focused on food, urban farming, and sustainability. Master gardeners will be on hand to teach participants how to build bug habitats; the folks from Tumbleweed Tiny House Company will be speaking and have an exhibit. Faire goers can learn how to make their own butter, DIY chocolate and beer! These are just a few of the makers to meet in the Homegrown Village area.
